Judith’s life and art is deeply rooted in the chalk Downland, the rolling Wealden hills and the wide skies of the Thames estuary, where she explores the traces of these immensely historic landscapes. Judith works on each print intuitively, engrossed in the slow and repetitive physical processes that characterise the medium of linocut – deliberately carving the linoleum plates, carefully rolling ink and slowly winding her cast-iron press before lifting each print, layer by layer.
