PRINTMAKER PROFILE

ARTIST STATEMENT

Originally from Cardiff, I graduated in 1993 from Staffordshire University with a degree in Fine Art Printmaking, where I had primarily work with etching and screenprinting. I met my husband while studying, and we decided to make our home here in Stoke-on-Trent. Family commitments took priority for several years, but I gradually eased myself back into printmaking with linocuts, and am now exploring further possibilities working with relief and intaglio printmaking at home. I am currently working on a series of reduction linocuts documenting the historic architecture of the Stoke-on-Trent pottery industry, particularly focusing on the beautifully shaped bottle kilns and ovens.
