PRINTMAKER PROFILE
BIOGRAPHY
My work celebrates life, colour, and creative expression. As an experimental printmaking artist, I’m guided by curiosity and a desire to explore new materials, processes, and approaches. Neon colours often energise my pieces, and I enjoy combining techniques such as screen printing, risography, and relief printing – including lino and playful materials like Lego Dots – to create bold patterns and shapes. I also produce abstract artworks that merge
printmaking with painting, stitching, and typographic elements like Letraset transfers. While my recent work is primarily printed on paper and canvas paper, I’m excited to expand into printing on fabric, wood, and cornstarch clay.
My practice is strongly process-led. I often begin with a simple urge to create, choosing a shape or motif that gradually develops into a composition. Sometimes the outcome remains abstract; other times it evolves into imagery inspired by nature, everyday objects, or typographic forms. I favour low-tech, hands-on methods – cutting paper stencils, carving lino, and layering colours in an intuitive, playful way. Embracing mistakes and chance has become an important part of my process, allowing unexpected and compelling results to emerge.
My personality is reflected throughout my work, which ranges from light-hearted and humorous expression to explorations of more existential themes. My background in graphic arts informs my instinctive use of colour, texture, and composition. I’m inspired by artists who create authentically and intuitively, including Jane Foster and Morag Myerscough, whose work positively impacts individuals and communities.
