Kathryn’s screen prints are predominantly abstract, seeking to reflect on an experience of the environment or situation in which the artist finds herself. Much of the thinking and preparation time is spent on long walks in the Yorkshire Dales and messing about with scrap materials before a clean and ordered print emerges. She enjoys working with the screen printing process as a means of distilling work with the many and varied processes and materials used during the preparatory stages of the work, such as drawing, photography and collage work.
