PRINTMAKER PROFILE

BIOGRAPHY

Having first learned the linocut technique in my last year of primary school, I rediscovered it after finding a small kit in the woodpile while holidaying in the Swiss alps. Two decades later, in 2018 I joined Northern Print, located in the Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle.

This has led to me exploring a number of other printmaking techniques, including drypoint and wood engraving, but it is still linocut I return to most often, focusing on nature, movement and colour — frequently birds, and frequently birds of Aotearoa/New Zealand, where I grew up.
