Tabitha Fedden

PRINTMAKER PROFILE

ARTIST STATEMENT

Tabitha Fedden is an artist and printmaker. In her studio in Gloucester UK she specialises in relief print – wood, lino and card, stone lithography and collograph alongside drawing, painting and collage. Tabitha is an associate member of the Gloucestershire Printmaking Cooperative.
Her work concerns a wide ranging investigation into natural forms. There is a specific focus on finding within these, metaphors for human physicality; growth, restriction, movement, shape and colour. The way light falls on an object and the resultant shadows serve to create an emotive and expressive vehicle to articulate these ideas, characterised by the weighty and sculptural presence of the image on the paper.

Since graduating with an MA in Printmaking Tabitha has shown her work in solo and group exhibitions both in the UK and abroad. Recent career highlights are: International Open Print Exhibition, Bankside Gallery, London 2021; RBSA Print Prize Exhibition 2022 (Awarded Printmaking Today Prize at RBSA – featured in Artists Eye in issue 122 / Summer 2022 of Printmaking Today Magazine); Wells Art contemporary 2022; Impact Conference 12, 2022, Centre for Print Research, UWE, Bristol; Woolwich Contemporary print fair 2022 – curated hang.
