Sarah Marshall
PRINTMAKER PROFILE
BIOGRAPHY
After many years of working in digital roles I have recently found a love of print-making, where I create everything by hand. I find a lot of freedom in expressing my creativity in a more analog way and it’s also had a positive influence on my mental health and my sense of identity as an artist. For me, making art is a great outlet for my frustrations with life and the ramblings that go on in my head.
I love working with typography and combining different textures and mark-making. I have mostly been experimenting with monoprinting where I create words by piecing together different shapes or use cut-out stencils of something written by hand. I explore themes such as minimilism, identity, human connection and gentle activism.
My aim through making art is to inspire conversations or at thevery least I hope to make someone smile or feel a sense of belonging. While my work sometimes has a heavy message, I try to lighten the tone by including bold colours or a little humour.
