Jo was originally a teacher of art in secondary schools in the midlands forty years ago, before her career took other directions. She moved to Derby in 2015 and took up a part-time post with Derby Diocese. She returned to printing to illustrate and assist with editing and researching ‘Saints of Derbyshire’, published in collaboration with Simon J Taylor by Derby Cathedral in November 2022.

Jo particularly enjoyed the historical investigation which accompanied the evolution of the linocut designs. The results of her research are sprinkled throughout the book: 20 lino prints, along with numerous line drawings. The prints in this exhibition are from that work.
