Marie enjoys going from an initial idea, to sketches to compose a picture and then moving on to paint, felt, sew or print it. She finds it very satisfying to see an idea come to fruition in a frame!. Her inspiration comes from in her surroundings, particularly the Derbyshire countryside and the small village which she lives in, near Ashby de la Zouch. A wide variety of countryside animals and plants influence her work. Marie is also a keen photographer and she finds that photography, printmaking, wet felt making, sewing and painting complement each other.
