PRINTMAKER PROFILE

ARTIST STATEMENT

The work I produce is greatly inspired by the History of Art, Travel and endeavouring to understand different cultural identities.

I have a working background spread over a number of disciplines which include Etching, Linocut, Drawing, Painting and a number of other traditional techniques. My work is illustrative in nature and adheres to strong academic drawing practice which is at the core of my creative approach. Drawing is also utilised for visual research, planning and the realisation of my ideas.
My digital working methods also include, Digital Photography, Painting, Drawing, Animation and Multimedia. These techniques utilise industry standard software and incorporate drawing hardware including iPad and drawing tablets.

This work often combines traditional studio print techniques with contemporary media supported by digital printing technologies. The potential to explore and extend new boundaries is greatly enhanced and often provides new and exciting challenges.

Professional Qualifications: My training started at Warrington College of Art & Design on a Pre-Diploma course (Foundation). Cardiff College of Art B.A Fine Art (Printmaking & Painting). Liverpool University ATD. St Helens College of Art & Design HNC, HND Multimedia.
