Valentina Bright

Valentina T. H. Bright – Painter and printmaker. Born in Coventry, studied at Southend College of Art, Essex and the University of East London, where I completed a BA Hons in Fine Art.

For me, art is an exploration of the natural world, in all its fragile yet powerful detail. I have a passion for light, colour and texture. This is a glimpse into my journey so far, as I engage with different techniques and mediums.

Caves are cool, silent, hidden worlds – places of refuge in hollows beneath the earth.
Likewise, our minds are concealed places of rebalance inside each one of us.

This series of unique prints have been taken from a corroded and weathered steel plate, inspired by images in a recurring childhood dream.

I continue to explore this line of images by taking prints annually as the plate corrodes further.
