I'm interested in the deconstruction of form and structure into a series of fragmented shapes. These simple configurations are devoid of information, manipulated and converted into layers or slides. These purposely structured shapes then contribute to assist in an interpretation of form.
This ideology is the golden thread that runs through all my work regardless of medium, whether each layer is carved onto a block to produce a print or paint suspended on clear acrylic. I tend to use material associated with the construction industry these unconventional materials convey a perceived sense of manufactured and unnatural quality which can produce a somewhat interesting contradiction with the subject undertaken.
