Laura Rankin
PRINTMAKER PROFILE
ARTIST STATEMENT
I first began printmaking during my Fine Art degree in Liverpool some time ago, after a long gap I have recently returned, inspired by objects from the collections at Derby Museum. Using drypoint, I have re-taught myself by reading and watching tutorials but mostly, through trial and error. I work quite small because I enjoy the intricacy and because I press my prints using the back of a spoon. I find the unpredictability of print making exciting, I love that I never quite know what the finished print will look like and that I am constantly learning and growing creatively through the process.
