PRINTMAKER PROFILE

BIOGRAPHY

My practice is driven by a fascination with the “alchemy” of image-making—a journey that began in the chemical darkrooms of film photography and has since evolved into the tactile, deliberate world of printmaking. Whether working through the fluid lines of a lithograph or the bold, physical creation of a relief print, my goal is to translate historical aesthetics and personal narratives into intimate, hand-pressed works.

The pieces submitted for the Derby Print Open 2026 represent the three pillars of my current exploration: architectural heritage, historical symbolism, and the playful subversion of tradition.

After a long hiatus from my primary school “art certificate” days, my creative reawakening has led me to these traditional processes. These prints are an invitation to look closely at the intersection of local landmarks, historical myths, and the characters that inhabit my daily life.
