PRINTMAKER PROFILE

BIOGRAPHY

Emily Crofton is a fine artist printmaker and art educator.

My Artistic Focus is on Lino Printmaking. I am Passionate about the tactile and expressive qualities of this wonderful artform. I especially enjoy reduction cut printmaking and exploring a more subtle and painterly side to lino print. Recent projects delve into botanical subjects, inspired by my deep love for the natural world. My work integrates sustainable principles with creative expression and aims to intrigue the viewer about the wild world. I have a degree in Fine Art and have always worked in arts education and nature education.

I worked in education for The City gallery, picture house centre for photography, Phoenix arts centre and many local schools. I have a diploma in applied Permaculture design and this led me to setting up a forest school and allotment playgroup, which I ran for almost ten years. Alongside my work as a practicing artist, I currently teach art skills to teenagers for the arts charity Soft touch Arts in Leicester.
