ARTIST STATEMENT
Carolyn Murphy’s work explores human landscapes and our relationship with the environments we share. She is a London-born, Manchester-based artist and printmaker. Her practice incorporates a range of printmaking techniques, experimenting with texture, pattern and space. Her work is concerned with our interventions in the world around us and its interconnection with us. Themes include fragility, decay and renewal. Carolyn has just completed an MA Fine Art Printmaking student at Middlesex University.
She exhibits regularly in group exhibitions. Highlights include the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2023, Bankside Gallery, Mandell’s Gallery (Norwich), Towneley Hall (Burnley), Bury Art Museum, The Whitaker (Rossendale) and The Longitude Gallery (Clitheroe). She is a member of the Printmakers Council, Prospect Printmakers and Fankle Art Collective.
