BIOGRAPHY
Beth Pickett is the artist in residence at Marlborough College. Born in 2004, with a BA at Cambridge School of art, Beth explores storytelling and hidden beauty through the process of printmaking. Having held a solo show in Cambridge & an open studio in Marlborough, she will be holding a solo at the Mount House Gallery in 2026. Beth has exhibited in a range of group shows, such as the Ironbridge Printmakers, and Cupola Gallery. Beth has won the Contrado Prize at Ironbridge in 2025, and came joint second in the Batsford Illustration Prize 2025.
This dry point etching, Aging 1, explores themes of age and history through the voice of a tree. To create it, Beth started with a mid-tone zinc jet plate, using a Dremel to create darkened areas, and a burnisher to burnish the plate back to white in areas.
