BIOGRAPHY
Trees have been the subject of my art practice for the past decade. I have endless admiration for these fascinating botanical organisms. Often it is the large, ancient trees that are acknowledged and admired by many, for their undeniable grandeur and majestic presence in the landscape.
Whilst I too marvel at these magnificent trees they are not the ones that I would typically represent through my work. Rather, I seek out the urban misfits, self-seeders, non-natives and the overlooked. My current practice is occupied with creating new and imagined botanical forms inspired by leaves. The resulting designs are part of my ongoing series of woodblock prints titled, If Trees Were Flowers.
