Deadline extended!

30 March 2020

Thank you to everyone who submitted their responses to our recent survey.

We were encouraged by the overwhelming positivity and support for the Derby Print Open and, based on the results, we have made the decision to extend the deadline for submissions and host this year’s Open as an online exhibition.

Please click here to view the survey results.

What does this mean for the Derby Print Open 2020?

The deadline for submissions has been extended until Thurs 30th April 2020

This year’s exhibition will be hosted virtually, via our website, using the same exhibition period of 5-27 June 2020.

We will also be publishing a catalogue in the form of a coffee table book.

From this point forward, we will be accepting submissions for unframed work only (if you have already submitted an application for framed work, please read on for further details).

We invite printmakers to submit up to five (5) original unframed prints (£15 per entrant). Upon selection, printmakers will be invited to include up to two (2) additional unframed prints for sale from the same edition (if possible).

Printmakers will be available to select whether or not they can post selected work to our studio in order to offer it for sale throughout the online exhibition period (please note, we will not be accepting deliveries in person until further notice). All work will be showcased equally as part of the online exhibition, regardless of whether or not it is made available for sale.

What if I have already submitted an application?

We will be emailing those of you who have already completed your submissions online, and provide you with the following options:

  • If you would prefer to defer your submission to the 2021 exhibition, you can reserve your place using the submission fee you have already paid.
  • If you would like to convert your submission from (up to 3) framed work to (up to 5) unframed, we will ask you to complete a fresh application form. You will also have the option to:

– Use the additional £10 from your submission fee towards a future application (next year).

Or

– Receive a coupon for your £10 to be paid towards the purchase of a print or catalogue from this year’s Open.

We will also be asking those who have already submitted an application to let us know the following additional information:

  • If you are able to post unframed work to us (likely to be in May 2020), would you like to offer your work for sale?

Please note, all postage costs are the responsibility of the printmaker. Any additional postage costs incurred will need to be covered separately from the submission fee. We are available to wrap and post unsold work back to your return address at the end of the exhibition period, however, please note you will be responsible for arranging collection with your preferred courier service and send us any applicable postal labels.

If you have any questions or concerns at all, please get in touch with the DPO team at hello@derbyprintopen.org and we will endeavour to support you. Please also follow our Facebook page to connect with the wider DPO community, and receive up to date news about the project.

We hope you are all staying safe and staying positive ♥
