PRINTMAKER PROFILE

BIOGRAPHY

My artistic practice is inspired by my love of landscape and nature. I am drawn to the complexity, richness and depth found in the natural world – shapes and patterns, colours and textures, the multiple layers and the changing light of a landscape.

I enjoy engaging with my surroundings and to record my feelings, experiences, ideas and details onto paper. My sketches form the starting point for the finished artwork, either using them as a direct reference or as a memory jogger for images that try to capture the essence of a place or object.

I mainly use the print techniques of collagraphy and monoprint, often combining them with collage material to create a series of unique prints, where each image can be similar but different. This combination of techniques allows me to experiment with finding new ways to depict my favourite subjects.
