Alyssa Heath

Alyssa Heath Elliot is a visual artist based in Edinburgh. She works in drawing, painting, printmaking and textile. Her recent work has been concerned with the relationship between humans and animals, particularly the historic idea of ‘dominion’. The two prints submitted here reimagine artworks in the collection of National Galleries Scotland. The collections contain many images of animals used in service of men – to provide prestige, power or evidence of hunting prowess. In this series, these animals, many of which are the spoils of hunting, are made the central focus of the image and humans are relegated to the margins.
