Ioana Pioaru is a U.K.-based Romanian artist, researcher and illustrator, working with a variety of media such as drawing, printmaking, 3d printing, virtual reality painting and digital holography. Her recent projects explore the boundary between drawing and sculpture and the capacity of isometric perspective to generate optical illusions. Her artworks consist mainly of maximalist imagery – pseudo-realistic machinery and eerie architectural structures.

Ioana’s previous projects are constructed around the subject of otherness, investigating the relation between identity and perception in contemporary society.
