Call for Entries 2023

The Derby Print Open is an exhibition open to all, showcasing contemporary printmaking from artists based in the United Kingdom.

Green Door Printmaking Studio is Derbyshire’s only open access artist studio dedicated to the art and craft of innovative and environmentally sound printmaking. We strive to raise the profile of printmaking as a primary art form with a long and distinguished history. We also host and organise the International Print Exchange.

We are celebrating our sixth Derby Print Open in 2023! This year we invite printmakers to submit framed and unframed work to be showcased in a physical and virtual exhibition throughout June!

Applications deadline: 31st March 2023
Applications will be shortlisted and all printmakers notified by 10th April.

Framed Print Submissions

We invite printmakers to submit up to five (5) original framed prints per entrant (smaller than A2 in size). Upon selection, printmakers will be invited to include up to two (2) additional unframed prints from the same edition (where possible).

How it works

Applications are open to all and there is no assigned theme.

Printmakers are invited to complete an online submission form before the deadline, and (subject to available space) each entrant will be guaranteed at least one of their submitted works being exhibited, provided all other guidelines are adhered to.

All submission fees are non-refundable and offset costs incurred for administration, installation and promotional literature for the Derby Print Open. All works are subject to a 30% commission fee if sold. NFS works are accepted.

The physical and virtual exhibition(s) will take place throughout June.
